Project Description: |
Foundation ADIN consists of a group of community projects that focuses on sustainable community tourism and education projects. Through ADIN, volunteers have the option of spending at least one week in a few of their projects or a longer period of time in one project. The animal rescue center in Guayabillas has a goal to provide a healthy home for animals from all parts of Ecuador that have been rescued from trafficking, as well as serve as an educational center to prevent the trafficking of wild animals as pets. If possible, they work to rehabilitate the animals they receive and reintroduce them into their natural environment, as well as create an awareness for those visiting the center to protect the environment in general that these animals live in. |
Range of Tasks: |
While working at the rescue center, volunteers work in the mornings to feed the animals and clean their cages, as well as educate and lead groups of visitors mainly from schools and high schools in the area. In the afternoons, volunteers help with the overall maintenance of the center, such as improving cages, building new cages, and repairing them if needed |
