| MARIA CABRERA, Founder and Administrator |
| Professional Experience: She has
worked in several different positions, in the Ministry of
Tourism in the Human Resources department and in various travel
agencies, besides teaching Spanish to foreigners. |
| Education: degree in
Administration of Travel Agencies from the Univerisdad Tecnológica
Equinoccial, a diploma in Chemistry and Biology, a diploma in Teaching Spanish for Foreigners and is currently completing a Masters in Education and Social Development from the Universidad Tecnológica Equinoccial. |
| Responsibilities: Maria is responsible for the administration of both the Spanish school and the foundation, organizing the day-to-day running of both. |
| Other Interests: She loves to explore different ecological zones, hike, spend
time at the beach, and most anything that puts her in contact with the
natural world. |

| ELIZABETH GAROFALO, Founder and Treasurer |
| Professional Experience: Elizabeth has worked in various aspects of tourism around Ecuador with foreigners, with responsibilities as guide, financial management of tours, translator, and logistics. |
| Education: Bachelors' degree in accounting for tourism enterprises, and teaching of Spanish to foreigners |
| Responsibilities: Elizabeth's responsibilities include organizing and overseeing the accounts of both the Spanish school and foundation. In addition she is regularly involved in training workshops for community members in basic accounting, financing and organizational skills and in program monitoring. |
| Other Interests: She enjoys camping and the outdoors,
walking around Quito,salsa, and discussing subjects such as politics, economics, tourism, and culture. |

| DAVID DE LA HOUSSAYE, Founder |
| Professional Experience: |
| Education: He is currently a Master's candidate in Urban and
Regional Planning, with a BA in International Studies from Portland
State University. |
| Responsibilities: David is mostly involved with the IT systems. |
| Other Interests: His active
interests include hiking, camping and travel. He is also
interested in politics, economics, and how policy impacts people's
lives. |

| JANET ROCCANOVA, Director of Academic Programs |
| Professional Experience: Janet has over 20 years of experience in international education, ranging from leading semester-length academic programs abroad to her most recent position as the Director of Education Abroad at the University of Kentucky (USA). She has traveled extensively, including leading programs to Ecuador, Chile, Peru, Mexico, France, Germany, Ireland, China and India, and personal/professional travels to Italy, Spain, Turkey, Greece, Finland, Canada, England, Morocco, Argentina, Portugal and Brazil. |
| Education: Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Kentucky (USA), specializing in phenomenology and German idealism. She taught university-level philosophy for 15 years. |
| Responsibilities: Janet is responsible for developing and maintaining relations with educational institutions outside of Ecuador. She develops customized service-learning programs for faculty-led groups of university or high school students and for individual students. She also coordinates academic research and internship opportunities for students. She is particularly interested in enhancing the academic experience abroad through guided reflection and experiential culture learning. |
| Other Interests: Personal interests include foreign languages, djembe, tai chi, logic puzzles, hiking and world music. |

| ANDY KIRBY,
Founder and Executive Director |
| Professional Experience: Over 20 years of experience in self-employment and small business development in the fields cabinet-making, furniture production and timber milling in Scotland. |
| Education: Bachelors’ degree in Psychology from Hawaii Pacific University and Ph.D in Environmental Psychology from the Graduate Center of the City University of New York. |
| Responsibilities: Overall planning, developmet and financial control of the Spanish School and Foundation, website design and maintenance, promotion and publicity, development of external relations. |
| Other Interests: After 20 years spent cutting down trees I decided to work towards keeping them standing. I am also vegetarian, play flamenco guitar, do yoga and love to explore the incredibly diversity of Ecuador. |

| VINICIO QUINCHIGUANGO, Founder and Social Director |
| Professional Experience: An indigenous
Quichua, he also speaks and teaches this native language. Vinicio has
taught Spanish to foreigners for 6 years, while also teaching language
at a Quito high school. |
| Education: Vinicio holds a degree in languages
and linguistics from the Universidad Central de Ecuador |
| Responsibilities: He is responsible for organizing the social activities of the Spanish school, travel programs, and student evaluations. |

MARCELO TOAPANTA PAUTA, Agricultural Program Director |
| Professional Experience: He has worked on a variety of development projects in Ecuador with several national organizations. |
| Education: Giovanni holds a degree in
agriculture from the Colegio Nacional Tecnico Agropecuario Luz de
America. |
| Responsibilities: He supervises and coordinates Yanapuma's agricultural projects with the community of
Bua de los Tsachila, as well as starting to create a more regional program for sustainable agriculture in collaboration with other organizations and individuals on the western side of the Andes. |

| DANIELA ROMERO WALDHORN, Projects Coordinator |
| Professional Experience: Coordination and management of projects in educational development, organizational development in the non-profit sector, and advocacy campaigns and initiatives in Latin America for environmental protection and defense of animal rights. |
| Education: Masters in Development Cooperation from the Universidad de Valencia, Spain |
| Responsibilities: Daniela is the projects coordinator. She works to keep our projects coordinated and organized according to the resources available. She also works to improve the organizational development of the foundation through implementing a strategic planning process and acquiring project funding through grant and proposal writing, as well as working with our interns and volunteers. |
| Other Interests:Fair and ethical treatment of animals, travel and new experiences, yoga and meditation, cycling, literature, enjoying the outdoors and living a simple life. |

| Professional Experience:
I spent 3 years working as a customer service Team Leader and a year working as a volunteer at an Indigenous Community Centre in Melbourne, Aus, before arriving in Ecuador in January 2008. For 18 months I worked for Yanapuma as the volunteer Group Leader and from June, 2009, I have been working as the Volunteer and Intern Co-Ordinator for the organisation. |
| Education: In 2004, I completed my Bachelor of Media Studies (La Trobe University, Melbourne) and in 2007 I completed my Bachelor of International Studies (RMIT University, Melbourne). |
| Responsibilities: As one of the Volunteer and Intern Co-Ordinators at Yanapuma, I co-ordinate the placements for individuals and groups of volunteers that come through the organisation. |
